The CFTQ Inc. Telescopic Straight Baton Handling Course covers the theoretical concepts related to the use of impact weapons, basic stances, blocking techniques, diversion techniques, retention techniques, and various control and takedown methods.

Issues related to the escalation of force
Component nomenclature and different types of telescopic straight batons
Identifying impact zones and recognizing major trauma in each zone
Personal reaction, control, and defense zones
Tactical stances (without the telescopic baton)
Tactical positions and movements during physical interventions
Techniques for using the telescopic straight baton
Tactical transport methods
Blocking techniques with the telescopic baton
Striking and diversion techniques with the telescopic baton
Baton retention techniques
Joint control and takedown techniques
